Knight K10 Upright Piano (1972)

[See Video]

Knight Pianos were first produced in 1936 by Alfred E. Knight. They are a highly prized respectable British maker of Pianos made at the Laughton factory. They were the only other make of piano besides Steinway in Steinway Hall London. The best years of production was between 1960 and 1985 before they were taken over. This fine example for sale is from 1972 - the pinnacle of high quality production. In their advertising Knight stated that the spruce they use on their soundboards is the same as that of the Stradivarius violin. For more information on Knight please visit the Wikipedia page, as it gives some insights on the amount of quality put in to this instrument.

This piano has been thoroughly cleaned (both action and all internals), Hammers reshaped and voiced to produced an even tone across the full spectrum of the keyboard, regulated and pitch raised to a440 concert pitch. I have no hesitation in recommending this Piano to any serious pianist, as this particular model (K10) won the award for recommended Piano by Music Teachers in the UK. It is an extremely well built Piano (better built than some new made Pianos). Proudly boasting on the Knight information label (see in the photos below) 'This instrument has been specially constructed to withstand severe extremes of heat, dryness, humidity and central heating in any part of the world'.

The casework does show signs of some wear due to age (1972), but is a very desirable and attractive looking instrument.

I am also including a Piano stool with this Piano + free delivery and first tuning (within a 10 mile radius from my location - Penn, Wolverhampton)
